In partnership with R&D-led bio-tech company Biohm, we are establishing a brand new bio-manufacturing plant on the old paper mill site. It will use mycelium (fungus) to break down locally wasted resources and from this process grow new, environmentally positive construction materials. Read more
A brand new purpose built Watchet Visitor Centre, and repaired Boat Museum opened in July 2016 and will act as a first-stop for visitors to Watchet. The project is a shining example of community collaboration in action!

This is a community project to transform an unloved disused field in Watchet into pleasure gardens. Over the course of a single weekend in September 2015, 50 volunteers, all Watchet residents built a timber canopy and stage, with landscaping for the pleasure gardens in a workshop led by architect Piers Taylor, timber specialist Charley Brentnall and landscape architect Marc Dix of LT Studio. This project is funded by Big Lottery's Awards for All. Read more
Watchet Community Makers are a team of volunteers makers. The makers work on projects requested by local groups to help make any improvements needed for community life. Projects have included building storage for the Scouts, benches and planters for the local school, and children's games for the Street Fair. Watchet Coastal Community Team CIC
Watchet Coastal Community Team is a membership organisation of over 30 businesses, community groups and organisations in Watchet. It is one of 116 CCTs in the country tackling seaside regeneration. Watchet CCT objectives are to work together to help improve the tourism economy and community well being in Watchet.
