Watchet Tourism Delivery

Onion Collective run the recently opened Watchet Visitor Centre, which opened its doors in July 2016.  It was built as a result of community consultation which showed that the highest concern for people in the town was that there wasn't enough for visitors to do, and Watchet's assets were not celebrated enough.

In an agreement with the local District Council, Onion Collective now run tourism delivery for the town from the Visitor Centre.  This includes working closely with partners in the town including Watchet's Coastal Community Team which is a membership organisation of over 20 local groups, businesses and organisations. Delivery includes a clear tourism strategy, and providing all visitor information, literature and publications. All work is directed by the Watchet Economic Plan, and aims to attract investment and visitors to Watchet.

Recent tourism infrastructure improvements have included a series of projects funded by Western Somerset LEADER, and include new interpretation for the Visitor Centre with interactive games and displays, a new dedicated tourism website (due to go live shortly) a new paleo geo-cache trail, and new directional finger posts and maps throughout the town.
