Be our Project Support Officer
We are now recruiting for an Onion Collective Project Support Officer
£20,000 – Full-time to include some evenings and weekends.
Reporting to Onion Collective directors.
Onion Collective CIC is a social enterprise based in Watchet, Somerset. We run a series of projects at various stages of development including Watchet Community Makers, Splash Point Pleasure Grounds and Watchet Visitor Centre which is due to open in mid July as well as projects in development including the East Quay site in Watchet. Onion Collective also provide consultancy services for organisations who need support in developing their own community development projects.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Support Officer to work with us to develop our organisation and support the projects we run. This position offers on the ground experience of community work, capital builds and project delivery. Main Duties and Responsibilities
Supporting Onion Collective projects including Watchet Community Makers, Makers Club, Splash Point, Visitor Centre, East Quay and any new projects.
Providing support for Onion Collective consultancy work.
Supporting and enabling the Directors in their day to day tasks.
Preparing presentations and reports under Director guidance.
Helping to publicise Onion Collective, its professional services and ‘on-the-ground’ projects.
Working with Directors to manage the website, e-newsletter, leaflets, social media and other publicity.
Gathering information and undertaking research pertinent to Onion Collective projects and business development.
Co-ordinating some events and activities relating to Onion Collective projects.
General office management tasks involved with the smooth running of the Onion Collective office, including dealing with enquiries in person, by post, email and phone. Filing, checking and ordering stationery and dealing with office equipment, arranging any maintenance, cleaning and servicing.
Acting as secretary for meetings, including collating and circulating papers, co-ordinating venues and attendees, and writing up minutes.
Co-ordinating the financial accounts and ensuring accurate and up to date records, cashing up and general book keeping. Issuing invoices and dealing with any problems.
Covering front of house services at the Visitor Centre as required.
Aware of, managing and working within Onion Collective’s policies including Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities.
Ensuring risk assessment are carried out and updated as and when necessary.
Undertaking any other duties required by the role.
Essential experience and skills
Highly organized and able to prioritise and manage the complexities of Onion Collective operations
Good IT skills
Good team worker
Strong communicator confident when dealing with people at all levels
Flexibility in working hours
Desirable experience and skills
Strong skills in finance and book-keeping – ideally SAGE
Experience of working with volunteers
Events management and co-ordination
